Grey Geeks, Brand Development

Grey Geeks teaches seniors to use the same devices and apps everyone else uses, so they stay connected instead of falling behind. It treats technology as a way to reach powerful outcomes, not as an end in itself.

This project built the brand from research to rollout.

Challenge

For many seniors, new technology feels confusing, even intimidating. Many simply stay offline, and that gap can deepen loneliness. Grey Geeks had to make technology feel simple and approachable, and show seniors what they gain by connecting, without talking down to them or building a separate, senior-only version of the internet.

Approach

Grey Geeks teaches seniors to use mainstream devices and apps, the same ones everyone else uses, so learning tech becomes a way back into everyday life. Every piece leads with the payoff, staying close to the people they love, before explaining the how. Tutorials stay short, visual, and easy to revisit.

Brand Identity

The mark joins two ideas: the G of Grey Geeks and a power button, the one button that turns the machine on. Set in a red-orange circle, it reads as energy and a fresh start. Museo Slab gives the wordmark warmth and weight, so the brand feels confident and grown-up, never childish or fragile. It’s tech made friendly, not dumbed down.

Brand System

The palette pairs vibrant red-orange with a calm neutral beige and a warm grey, with sky blue and sunny yellow as accents. Museo Sans, in five weights, carries all communication with open, easy-to-read letterforms. The circle from the mark repeats everywhere, from icons to page numbers, so the system feels organized and complete. Black-and-white photography keeps the focus on seniors’ faces.

Brand Touchpoint

Every touchpoint makes technology feel within easy reach. Posters lead with the payoff, with lines like Connect to thrive and Connect to cherish. Pocket guides cover computers, the internet, and networking in easy-to-carry quick references. The website offers video tutorials, events, and a branded shop. The app strips a smartphone down to large, simple icons for the things seniors use most.
